Cheers bilb . What you probably know I'm going to ask is why not? I"ve already bought the other codex packages from fluendo and they work great, .Did I download the wrong one, or they haven"t made one for us yet? Excuse my complete ignorance But I But I'm certifiable but not linux certified. It was entitled X86 64bit. Rvrn tried to install Vlc but I have Ydl 6.2 installed now.
Any one care to reply on this?

Difficult... I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly. Anyway, you can only run a binary program if either the binary's platform fits to yours or if there is some sort of ABI (Application Binary Interface) or emulation. Generally, you'd need to recompile the source code for PPC, and if you don't have that, there's a minimal chance of emulation (see qemu for example). It depends...

the website where i aquired the "rpm for fedora" was flueno.com . It wasn't for this arch most likely. I've given up on it.
Thanks anyway qmc2. Moving on to try my fifth try at installing gnash-0.8.5. So far, so bad. Will have my quad core system up soon. Evidently Linux is just too hard. lol
